Welcome to BlergBlog! --- Day-to-day nonsensical giggerish 22nd November 2004 22:23pm - I have a new Zebra!
Hey all, It has been stupidly long since I wrote in here! I really do apologise for that... Things have been a bit mad at this end, and I havent been able to update my webpage because I havent quite got the hang of linux yet. However, I wanted to show a friend some pics of my new zebra, so here they are!!

19th July 2004 11:30pm- a box, a box, my kingdom for a box!
You would not believe how hard it is to find a cardboard box!! We have been round every supermarket in Aberdeen asking for boxes but all they have are banana boxes, which is not useful. And, as Argos only stock 2 packs of boxes a week we are a bit scuppered. All i can think is that noone is meant to move house anymore!

Royal mail has finally delivered my application to the estate agents (or stately gents as i have taken to calling them). Only a week for first class post -hehe!

It is bed time now though, but i hope to be sleeping in a new place soon.

16th July 2004 10:am- Phew!
Right, well a lot has happened since i last wrote, despite it only being a few days! Chris graduated from university (his graduation pic is below) on Wednesday. We all had a really nifce afternoon, as his family came down from Buckie to watch te ceremony, and then we took loads of pictures around aberdeen and finally went for dinner in the local Beefeater. It was really nice! And Chris looked a little like a head master in his gown and hat. Very weird!

We have been busy trying to sort out getting packed up for moving and now have some boxes and have been able to get started. Been very busy as only just got the car on Tuesday evening due to mix us with the insurance documents and also Chris forgetting his bag and having to go back to the house for it!

We still dont know if we have got the flat that we wanted, as they are still waiting on Chris's bank reference, and apparently still have not recieved my application form -not a good thing as it was posted first thing tuesday morning.

Also, the oven finally got fixed on Tuesday afternoon! I was so happy and excited! Then, when Chris went to put a pizza in Tuesday evening, the handle and glass front of the door fell off. This is a prime example of Murphey's law! So the engineer is coming out at some point today to fix it.

On top of all this I have had to go to the doctors due to feeling so sick etc recently, they have changed my meds though so hopefully that will help a little.

We are off to Buckie tomorrow for a graduation party that Chris's mum is throwing him. So the blog will probably not be updated for a few days (again). However I must love you and leave you all now as I need to get up and get sorted out for the day.

I'll try to write again soon!

11th July 2004 8:00pm- Still in Letchworth
Chris and i have been in letchworth since wednesday evening house hunting. we think we have found somewhere - a nice disabled flat. We just have to get references and stuff sorted out, but it should all be ok.

Chris and I were meant to be heading back to Aberdeen this morning but I was too ill to make it. Feeling better this afternoon thankfully and hoping to be well enough to get on the train tomorrow.

We are hoping to get the car on tuesday now, was meant to be tomorrow, but thats out the question now. Sleeping seems to be helpign with the nausea and stuff... just wishing that I could stay in one place while everyone else moves for me!!

Its Chris's graduation on Wednesday afternoon. Its going to be fun I hope. Anyway, going to go now as I am tired.

see ya!

6rd July 2004 6:00pm- finally!!!!!
Woohoo!!!!!

We are finally sorted out! Chris's bank would only lend him 5k, so we had a very panicy hour this morning about whether we could afford the car after all, but then we spoke to the garage and they ahd decided to give Christopher the finance deal on the car, so all is well. We even ended up with more money after all than we thought we would!

The man from reg vardy is coming by on his way home to get Chris to sign a couple of documents and then we collect the car on Monday at 1pm. We are all booked to go and look at various places to live on Thursday and Friday, have bought car insurance, and are booked on the 9:55am train tomorrow. This means we are trying very hard to get lots of washing done, but other than that everything is sorted out!

We have now had 2 different removal companies over to give us quotes, the only one we have heard from so far says it will be £1200!! not a nice sum of money really, esp. as Miranda are not paying relocation expenses.

Anyway, Chris is making dinner so I had better head off now, but it is nice to finally be able to relax and know that we are getting there!

6rd July 2004 10:00am- slowly getting sorted out
Ok, so Chris went to the bank yesterday (again) and they finally changed his account over from a student to a graduate one, and he is going in to talk to the manager this morning at 11am to get the loan put into his bank. Unfortunately, as yet we are not quite sure how much this loan is going to be, as they were having a problem sorting out the APR. We should be getting about 9k, which is enough to do everything we need to do, but only just -as we need so many different things! Looks like furniture is gonna take a back seat... we can live on inflatable sofas right?

On the bright side, he is guaranteed to get the loan, so we have gone ahead and booked to look round houses/flats on Thursday and Friday with mum. It is going to be a very busy few days! We can only sort out contents insurance once we have an address -else it doesnt work, and a lot of places seem to not like the fact that we are going to be renting our home. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

On the bright side, Chris got his contract through and it all seems to be in order, apart from lacking one rather important section -relocation costs. There is no mention of them anywhere! This is not a good thing as we have not factored in the cost of a removal company and stuff into our budget. Again, Chris is calling them to find out if they can help in any way.

Well, I think thats it for the moment, but I will endeavour to keep you all updated.

3rd July 2004 10:40pm- Yey -we have a car -almost
Spent all day looking at cars and we have decided to choose a Laguna. The particular one we have found is a Laguna Sport 1.8i in silver/grey. It is £5k and we get 2 years warranty, 2 years RAC cover, a free MoT and 6 months road tax all included. Not bad huh? It pays to shop around and then tell the car companies about other offers -they always try to outdo eachother. So it all hinges on Chris getting this loan on Monday. We are trying to get finance from the car people anyway, just to keep our options open, as we could then use them for the car and only have to get a smaller loan from the bank. We shall see...

So out plan for the next three weeks is as follows: Tomorrow we have to make sure that the flat is completely clean and ready for Pamela, Rhiannon and Gordon to stay over on their way on holiday. Monday we are trying to get the loan sorted, Chris has an appointment with the bank manager at 10am, then, if Chris gets the loan we have to phone the car people and tell them that we want it asap. Then we have the removal people coming between 2-3pm to assess how much stuff we have to transport. Then, if Chris has the loan then we have to buy tickets to go down south (or if the car is gonna be ready in only a couple of days we can drive). If Chris does not get the loan, then we have to talk to every other lending place in Aberdeen, we cannot go down and find somewhere to live as we will not be able to pay a deposit, and we will have to talk to the car people and ask for another couple of days to get sorted out.

Tuesday, if the loan came through: we pack and tidy as much as we can, phone loads of estate agents and book viewings for thursday and friday and travel down to Letchworth. If we dont get the loan, the day will be spent madly calling loan companies.

I was gonna write the rest of the next 3 weeks, but there is jusy too much going round my head to be able to organise it at all.

Lets just face it, moves are not supposed to be done in the space of 3 weeks!

2nd July 2004 9:30am- We're off to see the wizard...
Once again I am awake in the morning -very weird! But we have a lot of stuff to sort out for Chris's job shaped thing. Plan for today involves phoning lots of people and talking to banks, then I have a psychiatrist appointment at 2:30 as my doctor is worried about how the CFS is affecting my mental health. Let me see, would you be depressed to go from a happy healthy and very active individual to having to be wheeled around in a wheelchair, unable to live alone and have to be bathed and cooked for by your partner? hmm... let me think...

Had quite a bad CFS day yesterday with all the emotions going round about Chris's job and having had a busy few days travelling etc, but hoping to feel a bit better today. We shall see. I will let you know how I get on with the whole thing this evening -we may even have a car by then!

1st July 2004 9:00pm- We're Moving Home!!!
Yup -you guessed it, Chris got the job in Wallingford. He is starting on the 26th July and we have to be all moved in by then (or at least well enough for him to be able to stay there) To do this we need a loan to be able to get the deposit for a flat, and to stay in a hotel to look for a flat, and to be able to buy a car and whatever furniature we need. However to get a loan he needs to be being paid for his credit rating to go up... very frustrating, but hopefully we should get it all sorted tomorrow. He is getting £23k p/a -not at all bad for a first job!

Anyway, I have to go and look for flats/houses and for cars and loans so I cant talk much. I will just say one more thing...

WooHoo!!!!!!!!!

1st July 2004 11:30am- yawn
Only just got up! Spent all of yesterday sleeping in a train and what happens -I get exhausted... silly huh? Plan for today is that Chris will phone up the recruitment people about the interview he went to and see if there is any news, and then he is off into uni to look at his exam papers and coursework and see exactly what people wrote on them. As for me, I have to find some way of doing the weekly shop without leaving the house (again) tesco.com here i come... more later if anything interesting ever happens in my measly little life.
