30th June 2004 7:30pm- Back home :)
Ok, Chris and I are home again now having had a good train journey -only 20mins late in a 600 mile journey, not bad really.
Chris has not heard whether he has the job or not yet, but many people have said that he would fit in or that there were good signs. He was even driven back to the station by one of those who interviewed him who was talking to him about which towns to buy a house in when he moved down! -now is it my imagination or does that sound like its a good start? We shall see, but I hope to find out soon! Anyway, it is dinner time soon and I have to go add more things to the oven :)

29th June 2004 9:30pm- I was right -car rental companies suck!
Chris has just left for his interview in a taxi! We went to collect the car and they wouldnt let us do it because he couldnt use a debit card after 8pm (something none of the people we talked to told us) and they also didnt tell us that they could only phone the DVLA before 8:30pm to check driving liscences. So Chris is getting a taxi to Hitchin, train to kinds cross, tube/taxi to paddington, train to reading, train to didcot, taxi to Wallingford. And then back again. This seems stupid to me. But there we go.
On the bright side I get to stay home, watch daytime tv and be bored all day... what could be better? hehe

28th June 2004 13:30pm- Parents are brilliant!
This news just in -Chris can hire a car as my parents are gonna help -all bow before the power of the parent!

28th June 2004 12:30pm- Car rental companies suck!
Grr -just got off the phone with Alamo and they have changed their rental policies so that Chris can't rent a car to go to his interview without £500 or someone older than 25. This is not fair!
Feeling a lot better today than I did yesterday. Looking forward to going and getting some fresh air.

27th June 2004 12:00pm- Change of Scenery
Ok -I am now in Letchworth along with Chris. Nice to be home for a while! Mum and Dad are happy and healthy, which is good, and we are busy sorting out how Chris is going to go to his interview on Tuesday. Best we think is by hire car, but we need to check whether we can do it financially etc. In the mean time wse are enjoying the sunshine, the access to sky tv, and the lack of stress that comes with not being in your own home.
Anyway, as nice as it is, it means that I dont often have time to write a blog, so if this is a bit patchy over the next few days i do apologise!
got to go -breakfast!

25th June 2004 10:45am- Hey -actully had a lay in!
Good morning everyone!
Today is going to be a bit hectic as Chris and I have to sort out how and when we are heading down south and book it. This is not easy as he is meant to have an appointment at the job centre on Monday morning -also we need to be back for Thursday. Also I can only go with him if we leave on Saturday, otherwise I will get too tired.
The job spec in the email sounds really fun -and Chris says it's a lot more senior than he thought it was, which is good i think.
Right, I have to go and get on with stuff, need to post things and book tickets etc and I havent even had breakfast yet!

24th June 2004 6:00pm- We're off to Oxford apparently
Well, I have spoken to Chris and he says that his interview went really well today, and that he could cope with working there. But while i was on the phone to him i had a call from the job agency that rang this morning. Chris now has an interview in Oxfordshire on Tuesday. Not quite sure where in Oxfordshire yet as we are still waiting for the confirmation email, but hey. Sounds like they really want him as they only got his CV this morning and have called him up immediately! Also it means i can probably go down too and visit my parents, which is always a good thing.
I am sooo excited!!!

24th June 2004 9:30am- It wasn't a dream, there really is a morning!
Right - after having quite a bad CFS day yesterday i am actually feeling quite well again now (strangely enough). Just sitting in bed and drinking tea and waiting for Chris to leave for another interview -this time in Dunfermline.
Had a really good time yesterday with Emma, despite feeling terrible -she brought round friends series 5 and we watched all but 4 episodes of it and ate lasagne... quite a good day by my estimations.
Chris's interview yesterday turned out to be for a company that designs software for fish farms... which would be interesting. The one today is for a java games tester -not the programming he wants to be doing, but at least its in the games industry. Also on the job front he had a phone call at 8:30 this morning from a recruitment agency about a job in Oxfordshire for linux specialists to do graphics programming, and said Chris sounded perfect, which is cool -even asked him how much notice he needed before an interview! I do hope that he gets something and that it is something he will enjoy!
I don't really have any plans for today, gonna rest a lot as my legs are not too sturdy today and I cant go out anywhere. So I think I will probably do some knitting and stuff to keep my brain ticking over.

23rd June 2004 10am - My first Blog!
Ok, let me give this a go... This, as I have said is the first time i have written a blog, so i do apologise for everything being a bit mad and confusing. This is kinda for me as I am going to use this to keep track of my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so that I can maybe guage how my symptoms are doing -better or worse etc...
Ok -Chris (my boyfriend) having just got his First in Computer Science has just headed off to an interview -the only programming vacancy he could find in Aberdeen. I will probably write some more later and say how he did at it. He has another interview tomorrow in Dunfermline to be a Java games tester -but i think programming (even though it is VB) would stand him in better stead.
Ok -so how am I doing today... IBS doesnt seem that bad today -been keeping up with my medicine. Still in bed so far as I really cant be bothered to get up -looks like my CFS should be ok today, but it is going to be a busy day so I will have to take it easy.
I am meant to be meeting up with my friend Emma today -not sure what we are doing, but Chris is meant to be tutoring her on a computer game -(always two there are, one master and one apprentice) so I will probably leave them to it and go back to trying to complete Sonic -almost there but not quite!
Have to brave the weather later today and go into town to visit the Council Housing people to have in some more evidence for my Housing Benefit. I really hope we get it -as I am unable to work due to illness, it means everyone else foots my rent and food money etc... not very fair on them. I have to wait 6 months until i am entitled to Incapacity Benefit, and my Disability Living Allowance still hasnt come through -I am waiting for an appeal date after my claim was turned down for the second time. Really not a good thing to have to go to a tribunal and fight for something when you are probably too ill to make much sense there! rediculous!
I have a couple of projects at the moment, having just finished knitting for a friend's baby -I made a blue baby grow and a fluffy mammoth. My next things to do are to knit my friend's top for her and also to make my old computer work. My old computer still runs windows 95 (the original version) but is missing the CAB files, so i have to borrow a disc from a friend and try and get the files it needs to access the network. Not entirely sure what I'm gonna do with it once its done, but getting it going is the first thing.
Anyway, I will stop here for just now and go in search of breakfast.
